PROJECT STATEMENT:
“Rustic Renaissance” and “Through the Generations” are sister editorials exploring concepts of fashion, food and family. The shoots were located in the quaint country town of Maryvale, Queensland, in and around the Maryvale Crown Hotel.
“Rustic Renaissance” is a fashion story following two glamorous young women making their way into the country - referencing the 1960s American satire “Green Acres”, which followed the adventures of a movie star moving to the country for love, and leaving the city behind. In Charlotte’s contemporary fashion shoot the models find to their surprise, that life isn’t all picking and plowing, as the people of Maryvale know a thing or two about what’s in vogue.
Following on, blood is thicker than beauty in the second editorial showcasing the hotel from a different perspective. Family ties, exhibited “Through the Generations”, are celebrated through the Maryvale clan’s favourite recipes and vibrant interior colour schemes, with a lush hint of fashion thrown into the mix.
Charlotte styled, photographed, art directed and illustrated all content within the editorials.
