CONCEPT STATEMENT
“Palimpsest” is a fashion and accessories editorial story that explores layers and transparency through graphic elements and post-production. The colour palette was inspired by the technique used to see palimpsest which is infrared light. As a base for the concept, a monochromatic blue and red fashion look was shot in the studio and those images were put into post-production to be manipulated. Customisations were created from an A3 and A4 piece of blue and red acrylic that was laser cut with the words palimpsest on each side and then shaped into a bag. When applying the concept a strong focus on the manipulation of images and the use of various materials such as transparent projection sheets, layered images and a bound book with interactive elements to communicate this concept. For the successful execution of this concept, the following was completed by Coco Walsh; Creative direction, styling, photography, lighting, editing, graphic design, typography, animation, casting, sourcing, hiring team, illustration, filming, printmaking, designing and creating handbags and finance management.
