DAYNA WILSON
STUDENT BIO:
Dayna Wilson is a graduate of the class of 2020 from the Whitehouse institute of Design, Australia, majoring in fashion design. Dayna has developed an array of creative skills ranging from pattern making, illustration and design knowledge which has allowed her to begin her entrepreneurial journey, launching Durty Laundry Apparel in her graduate year. Her creative identity promotes a sassy and spirited genre of style, appealing to the youth of today. Dayna prides herself in her appearance, and acts as a role model for her audience. As a designer, Dayna believes her versatile, and a ready-to-wear vision will see her fashion future strive to target those who want to be bold, sexy and suave on a daily basis. Dayna Wilson has proudly completed her studies interstate online during the 2020 COVID 19 pandemic and has achieved highly despite the disadvantage associated with remote studying. She has also modelled her own line, truly embodying her love and passion for fashion design.
COLLECTION STATEMENT:
Dayna’s bold graduate collection: Rose’, captures the essence of Fashion Designer, Dayna Wilson’s, creative identity. The hero body sets the tone for the rest of the collection utilising a variety of earthy colours and prints, creating a bold and urban look. The collection is based on the concept of a Rose flower, representing the bold and powerful persona associated with the Rose. The creative difference infused within the design of the Rose’ collection, is the underlying femininity portrayed by the flower including its delicacy and luxury, bringing a sense of wealth to the series. The soft shine of the satin juxtaposed with the matte snake skin embossed pleather brings this concept to life and embodies the values of a Rose. The rose is also used in the logo of the designer’s brand logo, Durty Laundry Apparel, as this concept will be carried forward as a staple element to Dayna’s design identity. The Rose’ collection will bring a sense of empowerment and fun to the world, as will bring light to the girls who wish to be both sassy and spirited in their appearance.
