ELLIE MORGAN
BIO:
Ellie Morgan originated from the United Kingdom, but now calls Melbourne home. Morgan is known for her use of geometric shapes, bold colour, hand lettering, references to nature and photography of the human form. A Creative Direction & Styling graduate, she also holds a BA in Textile Design with honours in Surface & Pattern Design from Leeds Arts University in the UK. As a keen photographer and creative director, she has great organisational abilities which is vital for such a multi skilled creative.
DESIGN STATEMENT:
'Monday Club' is a Fashion Editorial that breathes positivity and optimism to our least favoured day. The pages present an eruption of colour and texture, each spread linked by the sense of humour, playfulness and attention to detail. Geometric shapes are a strong signifier of Morgan’s work situated alongside bold colour. As a methodical thinker, this led Morgan to Colour Blocking.
Monochromatic visuals are particularly stimulating due to their focus on matching the shades, tints, and tones, along with emphasising the importance of texture. Collaborating with local florist, xxflos and local retailer, Suku Home, the divergence of fashion and interior features combine to create a powerful intertwining narrative.
