DESIGN STATEMENT:
The modern feminist narrative, “Driven” weaves together two unique stories, creating a multifaceted journey of community, strength and empowerment. “Driven” is where fashion meets motorsports. Where authentic car culture translates into style and explores clothing that doesnt just feel fast but looks it and designs that don’t compromise power for beauty. This story explores authentic car enthusist’s, capturing the thrill of driving, the
precision of mechanics and the freedom of the open road. Rooted in a deep love of cars, my family history shapes the narrative, a lineage built on grease-stained hands, shared road trips, and stories exchanged in the garage. Each generation has passed down not just traditions, but a profound connection to the hum of engines and the artistry of driving, creating a timeless bond that unites us. It’s about reclaiming space for women in a traditionally maledominated culture, where empowerment meets horsepower. Embodying strength and bold aesthetics, the fashion story merges style with functionality, exploring how automotive design influences high-end fashion. This journey blends the adrenaline of driving, the elegance of fashion, and the richness of family legacy, creating a project that is not just about cars, but the stories they hold within them. We are not just telling ‘her’ story, we are inviting women everywhere to see themselves in it. Women who drive their own futures.
