GRACE SCOTT
CREATIVE Bio
Grace is a fashion designer based in Sydney, Australia. She’s extremely passionate about art, drawing, design and the environment. Creating is where she finds her calm and zen, which allows her to express her inner thoughts and emotions that words can’t always capture. Grace is always being inventive with the way she uses prints and textures, favouring these design principles as they are what make a garment come to life and having so many options with different materials. The name Gracee Ellen comes from her childhood, when her loved ones gave her. This is also where her passion for art and design started. Since then, it has become an integral part of her life, never to be forgotten.

design statement
Summer Fling is a collection inspired by the ‘American Farm’ aesthetic. It’s where raw denim entwines with the tenderness of lace. This unlikely harmony transforms into beauty. The two polar opposite materials create a worn-in look, creating a story for the garments. With the environment and sustainability top of mind, this collection is upcycled from recycled materials, giving them a second life. You will see that each piece carries a story of resilience and renewal. Soft, sexy, simple silhouettes are seen throughout the collection. The details and textures are what bring the garments to life. “The other Women” has hammered flowers grading from the neck down and upcycled thread fringe grading from the bottom up. This came about from exploring natural ways to dye fabric. “Amricana” is a contrast of denim and lace. The denim has been frayed to give texture and depth. Denim petals are graded through the skirt, making the silhouettes slimmer. There are also smaller details throughout the collection, like is more frayed denim, pockets and belt loops.
