DESIGN STATEMENT
Below the Surface is a five-look collection that dives into material innovation. Rooted in a marine narrative, the collection explores themes of growth, adaptation, and transformation. Inspired by Tasmania’s coastlines, it reimagines natural materials through contemporary design. Sustainability lies at the heart of the collection. Discarded mussel shells, once destined for landfill, have been carefully cleaned, sanded, and hand-embroidered into the garments, preserving delicate traces of memory and material history. Fish leather, a circular textile repurposed from the waste of the fishing industry. Introduces a striking texture and a tangible link to the ocean, reimagining waste as luxury.
