CONCEPT STATEMENT
Hiraeth explores the connection between our reality and the grief of the lost places of our past. The concept of time has been personified in the repeating organic untamed floral motif. Hiraeth celebrates and shares the memories of my childhood in Bahrain.The culture, warmth and people who contributed to my growth. Bahrain will always be cemented into my memory as it was despite the inevitable change.The concept of time has been personified in the repeating organic untamed floral motif. In a time of rapid constant change it is more crucial than ever to reflect and celebrate the history of each person's story. The collection explores the use of remnant and reimagined traditional textiles into a youthful and bold setting. Hiraeth embraces a balance between refinement, and rebellious youth to deliver intensity.
