ISABELLA TIGHELLO
DESIGNER BIO:
Isabella Tighello is an Australian Interior Designer from Melbourne, Victoria. Tighello's Greek and Italian ancestry has given her design aesthetic considerable direction, with a concentration on the use of pattern and distinctive, bold materiality throughout all of her designs. Tighello's cultural upbringing, has given her purpose and conceptual growth as a designer, and is the key component that has inspired Felice’s design.
DESIGN STATEMENT:
270 Lonsdale Street is a sophisticated Mediterranean retail and hospitality experience, catering for the average Greek & Italian-Australian as well as all individuals who ‘mangia bene’. Felice’s is complete with five levels including retail, a cafe & restaurant, boutique cinema and rooftop bar. The considered and curated space will provide an array of hospitable experiences with both Greek & Italian flair to each level.
In collaboration with client Dom Wilton, all five levels of Felice’s will feel like a Mediterranean scene inspired by the migrants who came to Australia between the 1950s and ‘70s. Through the use of mosaic tile and a variety of wood tones, Art Deco influence and elements of Mid-Century Modern design can be seen. Lastly, with reference to the classic Italian card game ‘Briscola’ and both Greek and Italian cuisine, Felice's comes to life.
