IVY IERACE
CREATIVE BIO:
Ivy Ierace is an emerging fashion designer and Whitehouse Institute of Design graduate of 2024, known for her use of repurposing samples and incorporating her own hand-made textures upon them as well as
hand drawn digital prints. She creates intriguing pieces heavily adorned with textures and visual elements,
designed to be worn by anyone. Often inspired by the colours and general appearance of the ocean, she
also favours the look of denim fabrications, relating back to traditional workwear garments, adding her own
modernised aspect. Her extensive experimentation with fabric manipulation and hand-drawn print designs,
allows her to create unique garments that are intriguing to an audience, different to current trends.

COLLECTION STATEMENT:
“Rippled” is an Autumn / Winter collection heavily influenced by the ocean and deeply explores the way in
which visual elements can create imagery and motifs. Drawing large amounts of inspiration from traditional
workwear attire worn by fishermen, the entire collection is incredibly visual, speaking many words through
textures, colours and prints, with many strong silhouettes that draw in a viewer. In terms of workwear,
denim is a fabric that is used consistently throughout the collection, in not only the garments themselves
but in deconstructed forms; shredded and placed upon patchwork elements. A predominantly blue collection
of garments, “Rippled” relates to the ocean through a detailed digital print, drawn by hand, that replicates
a rippled, bubbly ocean image. The collection is compiled of many fabrics including, lurex linen, herringbone
jacquard, cotton denim, polyester satin, eco drill, scuba, polyester lurex, upcycled denim jeans
and assorted, upcycled fabric samples. Upcycled denim jeans have been used consistently throughout
the collection, being shredded by hand into single threads, grouped together and hand-stitched on. The
herringbone jacquard fabric has also been distressed excessively, to provide further harmony throughout
the collection. All the garments in the collection have strong silhouettes, including very wide leg pants, incredibly squared out shoulders created with shoulder pads, as well as tight fitting tops or dresses, accompanied with a highly embellished jacket or multiple garments layered upon each other.
