JALISA HERRIDGE
CREATIVE BIO:
Jalisa’s personal design philosophy is led by the notion that design is more than just the creation of aesthetically pleasing objects and spaces; it is a profound interaction with the world, shaped by historical, cultural, personal, political, and economic forces. As a recent graduate, she is eager to offer her unique design perspective by creating environments that prioritise sustainability with a user-centric focus. Jalisa expresses herself through her design process - focusing on innovation and new ways to look at design, from the perspective of emotion and how it may influence an interaction with a space. DESIGN STATEMENT:
“The connection between music and architecture may seem dissonant, but they share several fundamental values, including rhythm, energy, harmony, and texture.”
Fuel aims to explore the relationship  between these two fields and  how the dynamic interplay of their values can be translated into a physical space. Music often evokes a deep emotional response. I intend to explore this notion within the built environment by designing a space that urges interaction and evokes a similar emotional response when experienced.
Through exploring the shared values of music and architecture, I aim to push the boundaries of design in unique and unexpected ways by blending the intangible qualities of sound with the tangibility of physical space. This design aims to delve into the intricate relationship between music and architecture, examining how their connection can be seamlessly translated into a physical environment.
Fuel  moves beyond the ordinary, inviting people to feel, explore, and connect with the space on an emotional and visceral level.
