Jarrah Carlisle is an emerging fashion designer based in Sydney, Australia. With a foundation in sewing and art, Jarrah has always had creativity at the forefront of her mind. She is inspired by bold colours, interesting textures and high quality craftsmanship. Jarrah is passionate about creating garments with the future in mind. It is very important to her to create clothing that will last a lifetime. Through her high quality sewing and patternmaking skills, Jarrah designs and creates new and innovative fashion.
As a recipient of an Australian Wool Educators Trust grant, Jarrah has been able to explore wool as a primary fabric throughout her collection, elevating and increasing the quality of her collection.
DESIGN STATEMENT
‘Motion’ is a collection that explores the relationship between the fluidity of nature and the structure of architecture. Finding inspiration from the flowing lines of Zaha Hadid’s Heydar Aliyev Center, Jarrah has created a new and innovative texture that translates across her entire collection. The use of a red, burgundy and black colour palette contrasts well together to create a collection that is bold and eyecatching. Ranging from women’s wear gowns, mini dresses and suits to menswear tailoring, this collection explores and pushes the boundaries of every aspect of clothing. Using wool as a primary fabric throughout this collection elevates the overall look of each garment and explores the diverse abilities of wool.
