JYE MARSHALL
STUDENT BIO:
Jye Marshall is an Australian Fashion designer born in Launceston, Tasmania. Marshall studied pattern cutting, sewing and manufacturing at Polytechnic Tasmania for 2 years before moving to Melbourne to study undergraduate design at Whitehouse Institute of Design.
His design philosophy has been influenced by many contributing factors but the main one being his economic and cultural upbringing which has led him to design with a utilitarian and sustainable mindset. Jye's design philosophy will always be to create clothes which are staple pieces that can be handed down generations. To create designs which show the greatest detail and craftsmanship.

COLLECTION STATEMENT:
Sea Salt and Self-reflection’ collection is inspired by utilitarian design influences from growing up in Van Diemen Land (Tasmania). The ultra-modern and luxurious collection focuses on the self-preservation of memories though layering of garments.
