KIERA GOERKE
Creative Bio
Kiera Goerke is a Melbourne-based emerging designer, drawn to intuitive design that balances concept with craftsmanship. Her work explores clothing as both protection and expression, creating pieces that function as a form of modern armour.
Inspired by modernist artists such as Ruth Asawa and Barbara Hepworth, Kiera draws upon their explorations of organic form and texture, applying these creative principles to her approach to silhouette and detail. Through a meticulous design process, Kiera produces garments that are both thoughtfully conceived and technically resolved.
During her studies, Kiera was a recipient of the Whitehouse Institute of Design X EVERAU design award.
Design Statement
Solace reimagines clothing as sanctuary, forming a tactile boundary between the self and an uncertain world. Designed as resortwear, the collection balances sculptural layers with fluidity and ease.
A grounded palette of ecru, sand, and weathered blue is enriched with green and caramel tones, evoking natural landscapes and a sense of calm. Cord detailing and fringing create elongated vertical lines that flow into softly frayed ends, introducing subtle movement, while geometric print provides structure and precision.
Through thoughtful, contemporary silhouettes and tactile textures, Solace celebrates slowness as a form of modern luxury and conscious design.
