DESIGN STATEMENT:
Reverie is a lifestyle narrative and editorial exploring the theme of distorted reality. Drawing inspiration from surrealist artist, Rene Magritte, the editorial draws the viewer into an abstract viewing experience. By juxtaposing familiar objects in unexpected contexts, Reverie aims to blend the ordinary and extraordinary. Central to the concept will be the playful manipulation of visual elements to challenge perceptions of the familiar. Utilising imagery of both the human form and still life, the imagery will take on an abstract
representation evoking curiosity and contemplation. Key techniques that will be employed in the visual narrative will be shadows and camera blur. It aims to prompt questions about identity and perception through a series of unique compositions. The essence of Reverie is the wonder and beauty of distortion found in everyday existence.
