MICHELLE WANG
DESIGNER BIO :
Michelle is an emerging Sydney-based fashion designer with a deep passion for traditional art. Captivated by a "subject" whether it is a theme, a person or story, Michelle's' distinct conceptual aesthetic flows alongside timelessness and deconstruction. Growing up in Western Sydney and constantly traveling into the inner cbd, Michelle was constantly staring out the window. These things that she would notice, which mostly had nothing to do with her, kept her mind busy as she imagined and reimagined different stories and scenarios. Her beadwork, silhouette, and fabrication reflect the stories that captivate her heart. Her subjects are her inspiration and process for fashion
DESIGN STATEMENT
Office workers, they are seemingly everywhere.
All similar, yet distinct in their own way.
You might even be able to tell the differences between them; a boss, An intern, receptionist or a simple clerk.
Maybe you can even tell when one is pushed over the edge.... perhaps you can imagine them smashing a keyboard..
The individuals, smothered in classic office wear attire yet something is slightly off? The dark woolen blazer looks WAY too big, the shirt collar looks suffocating and there's pulling and tugging on the oversized shirts. A dull grey/blue colour palette is adopted, locks and buttons everywhere, and stripes locking them in their own clothes.
This is VITAL Statistic
