Hartup has developed a passion for visual storytelling and magazine content creation, characterised by the juxtaposition between vintage and modern. Her work delves into the intersection of past and present, using imagery to tell distinctive and compelling narratives. Having grown up abroad, Hartup developed a deep appreciation for multiculturalism, profoundly shaping her creative vision. Avenue is a fashion and lifestyle editorial that pays homage to Ralph Lauren's timeless American archives. Delving into the legacy of vintage and traditional leisurewear, Avenue reimagines heritage with modernism, embracing recreation without sacrificing elegance. Drawing on the graphic language of sportswear, geometric patterns and bold stripes emerge as signature motifs, infusing the narrative with a dynamic cadence. Sporty nuances are vital to Avenue, as they infuse the editorial with a sense of movement and vitality, grounding elegance I recreation. Exploring these elements through a tonal colour palette of reds, blues, greens and yellows, Avenue captures a harmonious balance of boldness and subtlety, each hue reflecting the heritage and vibrancy of its core theme.
This interplay of past and present creates a captivating tension, where nostalgia and innovation intersect seamlessly, evoking timeless charm and contemporary sophistication.
