Project Statement
Nyx, the Autumn/Winter collection named for the Greek goddess of night, presents timeless workmanship and honours the enduring beauty and skill of ancient design. The collection draws on the designer’s Greek heritage to integrate traditional techniques and art forms into his work, producing distinctive, timeless garments. The garments tell a story, transcend trends, and are made to last. Nyx draws on curved and spherical forms in pottery, architecture, and art, highlighting refined forms and the permanence of fine craftsmanship. The collection features structural, tubular elements developed through experimentation with boning, tulle, and fusing to enhance silhouette and shape. The palette and materials evoke the Greek natural environment, using predominantly natural textiles such as silk, cotton, and wool. The varying tones of blue and rich textures featured within the collection mimic the vast complex nature of the Aegean sea and its inhabitants. The hand-dyed ostrich feathers are illustrative of sea anemones, and the circular details are reminiscent of octopus tentacles, later inspiring digitally printed tights. Nyx delivers a versatile read-to-wear collection that blends ancient principles with contemporary design to support longevity and honour hand craftsmanship.
