SAICHHYA GURAGAIN
CREATIVE BIO:
Saichhya Guragain’s approach to fashion design is to give ideas a second life and a second purpose. Her way of looking at everyday things with the eye of a designer makes her style unique. Where there is an everyday object, she reimagines it as something completely different, recontextualising elements of it to be fashionable and wearable. Her love for the beauty of chaos in design and life itself is seen throughout her work, often clashing materials, colours and textures as her own quirky way of viewing the world. Saichhya’s signature style blends oversized silhouettes, bold prints and a sporty vintage aesthetic, merging retro charm and modern flair.
DESIGN STATEMENT:
The "Roadrage" collection is a vibrant and bold exploration of urban life, drawing inspiration from the chaotic energy of the city streets and early 20th-century motoring clothes. It reimagines road signs as funky, contemporary visual elements while integrating the tailored, functional style of early 20th-century motorist attire. The collection features structured quilted coats, oversized silhouettes, high collar jackets, and luxurious hand- printed fabrics integrated with bold typography and graphic prints inspired by road signs to give a modern edge to vintage-inspired designs. “Roadrage” combines practicality and style, blending historical references with modern street culture to create unique and bold pieces for today’s fashion-forward audience.
