SAIGE DAVIES
CREATIVE BIO
I’m Saige Davies, an illustrator and creative director passionate about translating lifestyle stories into art and design. Growing up in rural New South Wales, I began painting large-scale murals that connected community, colour, and creativity — a foundation that continues to guide my practice today. Now based on the Gold Coast, my work is shaped by sunlight, texture, and tide — long beach walks, painting beneath the salt air, teaching art, and finding beauty in the quiet rhythm of everyday life. I specialise in creating illustrated prints and visual narratives that merge craft and storytelling — from painted motifs to styled editorials that explore how art lives within lifestyle. Each piece I create reflects a love for handmade process, natural tone, and refined simplicity,
celebrating the balance between art, design, and living.

 DESIGN CONCEPT
Salt and Saige is a coastal lifestyle editorial that explores the relationship between art, design, and living through a tactile and aesthetic lens. Inspired by the textures and tones of the Australian coastline, the project merges illustration, product design, and fashion styling to express the warmth, creativity, and ease of coastal culture. The preliminary concept features a curated display of scarves, sarongs, ceramics, and lifestyle imagery, each adorned with hand-painted motifs of shells, seafood, tropical fruits, and coastal textures. Several fashion elements double as art objects — including a sun hat constructed from paint brushes emphasising my identity as both an artist and illustrator. This project presents more than a coastal editorial; it expresses my personal creative narrative, where art and design naturally intertwine. Each piece fuses artistic expression with functionality, embodying a modern, relaxed interpretation of Gold Coast living. The imagery captures sunlight, texture, and movement, with handmade products styled in coastal scenes photographed around my home’s pool and kitchen spaces. This approach reflects a harmony between art, lifestyle, and environment while maintaining an editorial tone aligned with contemporary fashion media.
