PROJECT STATEMENT
Drumline explores the sculptural potential of natural fibres, inspired by the rhythmic motion of a washing machine drum. This concept becomes a metaphor for motion, transformation, and renewal, translated into a womenswear collection spanning both day wear and evening wear crafted for modern feminine expression. The collection is defined by circular silhouettes and motifs expressed through garments crafted entirely from natural fibres, including wool, cotton, and linen. A blue colour palette reinforces the idea of movement, and cleansing cycles. Custom screen-printed wool becomes a central design feature, where print transforms into texture, blurring the line between two and three dimensional surfaces. Drapery, pinstripes, and circular motifs further articulate the concept. Through these elements, Drumline merges structure with motion, revealing beauty within the overlooked and material transformation. Each piece reflects a commitment to sustainability and longevity, celebrating natural fibres as a medium for innovation and expressive, sculptural design.
