DESIGN STATEMENT:
Dandied Dystopia explores the queer community’s dreams and struggles, celebrating identity, vulnerability, and resilience. It blends Clowncore’s whimsical defiance with Sailorcore’s themes of freedom and belonging to reveal deeper layers of queer experience. Clowns embody the courage to embrace fluidity, while sailors evoke a yearning for camaraderie and exploration. Reimagined through a queer lens, these archetypes create meaningful connections that make audiences feel seen and valued. Through playful, authentic storytelling, the project fosters solidarity and understanding, celebrating the diversity of queer identities and voices.
