Victoria Marie (Grindrod) is a Melbourne-based fashion designer originally from Gippsland, Victoria. Growing up with limited resources, she found solace in the realms of science-fiction, fantasy, and theatre, which deeply influenced her creative journey. Her passion for dance and whimsical storytelling shapes her ready-to-wear collections, where comfort meets imaginative design. Eager to make her mark in the Australian fashion scene, Victoria’s designs reflect a unique blend of off-beat aesthetic, practical wearability, and celebrates individuality. In recognition of her working professionalism, Victoria was awarded the Academic Award in 2022 at the Whitehouse Institute of Design in Melbourne.
DESIGN STATEMENT
“Wings Over Woodstock” is a dynamic capsule ensemble that harmonizes a pink and green color palette with intricate paisley patterns and military utility. This collection reflects my journey as a designer, merging whimsical aesthetics with functional design. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted to prioritize comfort without sacrificing style, allowing the wearer to express individuality and confidence. The infusion of paisley pays homage to my love of storytelling and freedom, while the military elements provide a modern edge. This collection celebrates the balance between playfulness and practicality, inviting wearers to embrace their unique identities in a contemporary fashion landscape.
